Photo: Starboard Home at Noronsquis, waiting for weather
Since David left, we have been "holed up"
here in Noronsquis, waiting for a weather window to go east and north.
Wind over the Caribbean sea has been 25 knots and higher with waves and swell
coming from the northeast and producing "monstrous" waves of 12 to 15 feet with a
periodicity of 8 seconds. This would be okay if we were going downwind,
but we will be going upwind. It looks like tomorrow may bring a moderation
of wind and waves, so we will leave and see how far we get. We'll be
reporting our position and checking into nets everyday. If you wish,
you can see where we are by clicking on the Latest Position button above.
