Photo: David and Peg snorkel on Noronsquis
After checking into Los Roques, we sailed to an
anchorage about 4 miles from Gran Roque on the island of Noronsquis. The
island is surrounded by reefs and the noise of the breaking surf is
constant. At night it becomes a white noise that lulls us to sleep. The
snorkeling is fairly good, with lots of schools of brightly colored tropical fish.
David leaves tomorrow from Gran Roques to fly to
Caracas and then to home. There is a landing strip and control tower here and he will be
flying off in a DC3, a tail-dragger of a plane that Tom thinks is just classy as all get out.
