Launch Day in
Trinidad
10 40.65 N 61 38.26 W
December,2005
After a great weekend of skiing in Upstate,
N.Y., to celebrate Tom's 70th birthday, we returned to Trinidad to get ready for
another season of cruising. We shed our parkas and got out the shorts and
tee shirts and set to work. Most of the work had been completed (details
in Trip Report 1-2006)and after a few days, the boat was launched.
Christmas crept up on us as we finished
the myriad chores of provisioning and preparing the boat to set sail.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day found us at festive pot luck dinners with other
cruisers. In a setting of hot weather and swaying palm trees, it was
unlike any other Christmas Past.
We will soon set sail for Venezuela and
will ring the New Year in quietly in Los Testigos, islands off the Venezuelan
coast. We wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2006.
