Starboard Home is spending her first summer on
the hard in Trinidad and we are spending our first summer without a boat.
We have been enjoying the time visiting family and friends and catching up on
projects around the house in North Carolina. And since we never really
seem to be able to get along without working on boats, we have been refinishing
the wooden seats, console and hatches on our long neglected Boston Whaler.
Tom, who has been supervising (by email) projects that
are being done by craftsmen in Trinidad, plans to fly to Trinidad in October to
check on the completed work and to apply a new coat of bottom paint and begin to
get the boat ready for launching in December. We expect to return to the
boat and begin sailing again mid-December, 2005.
