Yesterday afternoon and all through the night the wind blew at 25-30 knots
from the ESE. We sped along at 6.8-7.4 knots, ticking off the miles.
This morning, the wind is 20-25 knots and the wave heights are still
impressive. We can see a yellow haze in the sky, the plume of sand from
the West Sahara, only 182 miles east of us.
Before we left, we put enough food on board to
feed an army for a month, but we have yet to touch anything but the crackers and
gingerale. We all feel better today than we did yesterday, though, and any
weight loss will be short-lived - sadly. We've been hitting the tylenol
and advil pretty hard, as the muscle soreness from constantly bracing sets
in. This is all part of getting acclimated to the boat and the ocean.
All's well on board-
