Trinidad to OrientalPeg and Tom left Coral Cove Marina in Trinidad on December 28, 2005 and sailed around Gaspar Grande Island to test all the sails and systems on the boat before setting off to Venezuela. They anchored that night in Scotland Bay and sailed off the next day to the islands of Los Testigos, 100 miles away. They will stop at Isla Margarita and continue on to rendezvous with son, David, in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela. After spending some holiday time with David, sightseeing on land and sailing to the outer islands off Venezuela, Starboard Home will sail to the Leeward Islands, West Indies. Time permitting, they will explore some of the islands, but their goal is to be in the Virgin Islands in late February to spend a week on St. Thomas with one really sweet little grand daughter, Anastasia, and her parents, son Rob and his wife, Alexandra. Peg and Tom will then sail on to the Bahamas, stopping in the Turks and Caicos on the way. Arriving in the Bahamas in April, they will rendezvous with son, Tim, his wife Becky, and two really cool grandsons, Nathan and Avery. The last leg of this season's journey will be the sail from the Bahamas to Starboard Home's dock on Broad Creek in Oriental, N.C. After being away for 7 years, it will be good to be home again for awhile, but Peg and Tom are already thinking about the next trip. The following are links to Trip Reports filed this year:
